Generations Bank in Seneca Falls, N.Y., plans to begin using Compushare's cloud-based platform.
The $265 million-asset company will move its critical banking applications to Compushare's C3 Cloud Computing platform, it announced Monday. Generations expects the change to improve security and data backup and recovery, while reducing the need for on-site infrastructure, it said.
Generations expects to make the change without any interruption of service. The California banking technology firm's cloud platform has been approved by Generations' regulators, the bank said.
"Transitioning our operations to the cloud allows us to increase availability and serve our customers in a broader way," Generations Bank President and CEO Menzo Case said in the news release. "Compushare offered a cutting-edge model that meets our needs and has been approved by Generations Bank regulators."
Generations has nine branches in upstate New York.
