CipherCloud announced Tuesday that it's expanding its cloud information protection platform. The software will now include a discovery application that will let banks better monitor all the information employees are sharing across multiple applications.

The San Jose company, which provides encryption for cloud computing arrangements, said its Cloud Data Discovery tool can now give businesses and government organizations "detailed information on all logging, tracking, and auditing of user activities across all cloud applications."

"The addition of the cloud data discovery to the CipherCloud platform is the next step in our mission to deliver continued rapid innovation to the realm of cloud information protection," said Pravin Kothari, CipherCloud's founder and chief executive, in a press release. "We're enabling organizations to have full visibility into all of the information that is going into their cloud applications by delivering previously unavailable discovery, visibility, protection, compliance, and monitoring capabilities."
