Wincor Nixdorf has won a customer for its automated teller machine software.

The Austin, Texas-based company said recently that State Employees' Credit Union, or SECU, in Raleigh, N.C., would install Wincor Nixdorf's ProClassic system on the credit union's network of roughly 1,100 ATMs.

The software will enable SECU members to deposit cash and checks without using an envelope and to have their ATM receipt emailed to them, according to Wincor Nixdorf.

Wincor Nixdorf added that SECU would be able to use the software to customize messages the ATMs display to customers and to bolster protections against fraud.

Oliver Weber, chief executive of Wincor Nixdorf's U.S. operations, said in a press release that the ProClassic system "allows financial institutions to offer enhanced functionality through their self-service channel while reducing operational expenses" on one platform regardless of the ATM manufacturer.

SECU has roughly $25 billion in assets and about 1.8 million members.
