Wells Fargo Ends Partnership with Longtime Ad Agency

Wells Fargo (WFC) in San Francisco has ended its partnership with its longtime advertising agency DDB.

The company eliminated DDB from a list of finalists in its ongoing creative review, according to a Tuesday report in Adweek. DDB had worked with Wells Fargo for 18 years.

Wells Fargo executives want to "explore new directions for their marketing communications," DDB North American President Mark O’Brien told Adweek.

With DDB out of the running, Adweek reported that four finalists have reached the review's final round: BBDO, TBWA\ Chiat\Day, Mullen and JWT. The agencies are expected to give their final presentations in February.

"We are excited to continue to explore and learn more of their capabilities in the coming weeks to fully understand which agency best fit our needs," a Wells Fargo spokeswoman said.
