Pindrop Security Adds Voice Biometrics to Fraud Tech

Phone fraud prevention company Pindrop Security has launched an authentication system that allows call centers and other institutions to confirm the identity, location and type of device used by callers.

The 2.0 version of Pindrop's Fraud Detection System incorporates voice biometrics into technology that analyzes the audio aspects of calls to identify suspicious call origins, caller ID spoofing and other potential signs of fraud, according to a Thursday press release.

"With attackers increasingly unable to crack the robust cyber defenses at most institutions, more and more are moving to the phone channel to gain access to financial accounts," Vijay Balasubramaniyan, co-founder and chief executive of Pindrop Security, said in the release. "The integration of voice biometrics into the Pindrop solution is a crucial layer of defense that will help ensure that financial institutions and call centers can trust that the person who calls is who they say they are."
