Cybersecurity firm Trustwave has acquired Cenzic, a company that helps organizations test their applications' vulnerability to hacker attacks.
The deal will allow Trustwave to strengthen its security testing technology for cloud, mobile and web applications, according to a Tuesday press release. As a result of the acquisition, Trustwave will offer firms both static testing which examines applications for vulnerabilities before they are launched and dynamic testing, which scans applications for security issues while they are running.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Silicon Valley-based Cenzic tests more than 500,000 online applications, according to the release.
Trustwave, which is headquartered in Chicago, acquired anti-malware technology provider M86 Security in 2012.
