FFIEC Announces Plans for Cybersecurity Assessments

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council announced today that it will conduct cybersecurity assessments later this year.

The FFIEC said in a press release that the assessments will help the council "make informed decisions about the state of cybersecurity across community institutions."

The agency reviews will examine the policies that community banks have in place for vulnerability and risk-mitigation.

The announcement was made during a webinar as part of a council initiative to highlight cybersecurity awareness.
