BankMobile Begins Podcast Series

BankMobile has launched a podcast series focused on financial literacy and self-help tips.

The no-fee digital unit of Customers Bancorp in Wyomissing, Pa., announced Thursday that its "BMpowered Radio" will begin airing on Friday, March 4.

BankMobile joins a number of other financial services firms to explore connecting with customers via podcasts and radio shows.

Brett King, chief executive of the neobank Moven, hosts "Breaking Banks." Umpqua Holdings and Wells Fargo launched podcast series last year, as did the investment bank Keefe, Bruyette & Woods.

The BankMobile series will be hosted by Ash Exantus, a financial empowerment coach who is also known as "Ash Cash." It will feature two weekly segments: #MoneyMondays will feature a mixture of financial tips from the host, interviews with financial experts and answers to questions from listeners, while #FreeLifeFridays will have interviews with "young movers and shakers," the company said in a press release.

"Financial empowerment is at the heart of our mission and the #MoneyMondays podcast series is meant to be a fun, quick way for listeners to learn tips on how to get on solid financial footing," said Luvleen Sidhu, BankMobile's chief strategy and marketing officer. "But we are not just about financial empowerment, we are a brand that hopes to empower you in every aspect of your life and our #FreeLifeFridays podcast serves as weekly inspiration to push our listeners to reach their potential."

The first episodes feature Omar Qari, co-founder of Abacus; Kiana Danial, chief executive of Investdiva.com; and Meg Buzza, a professional dancer and choreographer.
