Flushing Financial in New York Promotes Cullen to CFO

Flushing Financial in Uniondale, N.Y., has promoted newly hired executive Susan Cullen to chief financial officer.

The $5.5 billion-asset Flushing said Cullen will step into the role in February, on the retirement of Flushing's current CFO, David Fry. Cullen will also take the title of treasurer.

Cullen has been chief accounting officer at Flushing since August. She previously was Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and investor relations officer at Hudson Valley Bank in Yonkers, N.Y. She also previously worked at Grant Thornton, where she was the partner in charge of Flushing's audits.

Fry, who was 64 in May at the time of Flushing's proxy, joined Flushing in 1998 and has been CFO for the company and its bank subsidiary since July 2004.
