HomeTrust Hires N.C. Commercial Lending Team from TrustAtlantic

HomeTrust Bancshares in Asheville, N.C., has hired a team of commercial lenders to open its first office in Raleigh, N.C.

The $2.2 billion-asset company said in a press release Tuesday that the four lenders — John Sprink 2nd, Darrin Williams, Justin Dunn and Tom Quinn — have signed on for the office.

"We're pleased to welcome an experienced, Raleigh-based commercial banking team to HomeTrust," Dana Stonestreet, HomeTrust's chairman, president and chief executive, said in the release. Raleigh "is a vibrant, metropolitan market that complements our recent expansion across" central North Carolina.

The lenders previously worked at the $453 million-asset TrustAtlantic Financial in Raleigh, which recently agreed to sell itself to First Horizon in Memphis, Tenn. Sprink, Quinn and Williams joined TrustAtlantic in August 2007 after leaving SunTrust Banks.

HomeTrust, which converted to a stock-owned company in 2012, has been an aggressive acquirer in recent years, buying BankGreenville, Jefferson Bancshares and Bank of Commerce. The company also has an agreement to buy 10 branches from Bank of America in a deal that is expected to close on Friday.
