Metropolitan Commercial in N.Y. Hires New CFO

Metropolitan Commercial Bank in New York has a new chief financial officer.

The $1.1 billion-asset bank said in a press release Monday that Sangeeta Kishore will focus on developing growth strategies, including identifying new business lines and products and finding ways to attract new capital. She will also work to increase liquidity and enhance transparency of information.

Kishore joined the bank's management team in June, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Kishore previously served as CFO and senior risk officer at the $708 million-asset Kish Bank in Belleville, Pa. Before that, she was president and chief executive of the $328 million-asset Hanover Community Bank in Garden City Park, N.Y.

Kishore's "expertise will be extremely beneficial in managing our finances, increasing our lending capacity and continuing our trajectory of success," Mark DeFazio, Metropolitan Community's president and CEO, said in the release.

Metropolitan recently raised $34.4 million in a move that is expected to boost its lending capacity.
