Poage Bankshares in Ky. Names Chairman

Poage Bankshares in Ashland, Ky., has promoted Thomas Burnette to chairman of the boards of the company and its Town Square Bank subsidiary.

Burnette, who was 65 as of the company's 2015 annual report, moves up from vice chairman of the $425 million-asset Poage following the death of Thomas Carver in February.

Carver had been appointed chairman in December 2014, after the death of his predecessor, J. Thomas Rupert.

Burnette became a director in March 2014 after Poage purchased Town Square Financial, where he had been a director since 2011. He became the vice chairman in December 2014. He owns an office supply retailer, Ashland Office Supply.

Charles Robinson, who was 69 as of the annual report, will become vice chairman.
