SmartFinancial in Tenn. Hires Crowe Ahead of Cornerstone Deal

SmartFinancial in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., has hired a chief experience and strategy officer, ahead of its planned acquisition of Cornerstone Bancshares in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Stefanie Crowe will work from the combined company's Chattanooga office in the new position, and she will oversee strategic planning in multiple areas. Crowe will also be involved in the development and launching of new products and client initiatives.

Crowe has previously worked in multiple areas for past bank employers, including private banking, trust and wealth management, cash management and marketing. SmartFinancial and Cornerstone did not identify her previous employer. Crowe was previously executive vice president of wealth services at CapitalMark Bank & Trust in Chattanooga, according to her LinkedIn profile.

The $529 million-asset SmartFinancial and the $425 million-asset Cornerstone announced their deal in December and it's expected to close during the first half of this year.
