Meta Financial Files to Raise $26 Million

Meta Financial Group in Sioux Falls, S.D., has filed to raise up to $26 million by selling common stock.

The company said in a press release late Wednesday that it could sell shares as part of an at-the-market equity offering program. Shares could be offered over time, as needed, through Sandler O'Neill, which is the offering's sales agent.

Meta sold roughly $13.9 million in common stock during the second half of its last fiscal year as part of a previous program.

The company said it could use any proceeds from the new program for general corporate purposes, including capital support for organic growth, acquisitions of bank or nonbank entities and upcoming Basel III requirements.
