Sandy Spring Bancorp in Olney, Md., has bought an insurance agency in Westminster, Md.
The $4.7 billion-asset Sandy Spring said in a press release Thursday that its insurance unit bought The Advantage Group, which offers personal, business and life insurance to clients in Maryland, northern Virginia and Washington. Sandy Spring did not disclose the price.
The Advantage Group was founded in 1990 by Bruce Talbot and Fred Hilderbrand.
