M&T Bank in N.Y. Names Brady Vice Chairman

M&T Bank in Buffalo, N.Y., has named Robert Brady vice chairman and lead independent director.

Brady succeeded Jorge Pereira, who retired this year after serving in those two roles since 2005. Brady is the former chairman and chief executive of Moog, an East Aurora, N.Y., manufacturing company. Brady has been an M&T director since 1994 and is a former lead independent director at National Fuel Gas.

Brady "brings a wealth of experience in both executive management and corporate governance with a number of publicly traded companies," Robert Wilmers, chairman and CEO, said in a news release.

M&T is awaiting regulatory approval of its planned acquisition of Hudson City Bancorp in Paramus, N.J. The companies have delayed the termination date for their merger to Oct. 31, the fourth time they have postponed the date since their agreement was announced in 2012.
