The Treasury Department has hired Melissa Koide, vice president of policy for the non-profit Center for Financial Services Innovation, which focuses on expanding the availability of financial services.
Koide will be serving as a deputy assistant secretary covering financial access, financial education and consumer protection issues. She will also serve as executive director for the President's Advisory Council on Financial Capability.
Koide started at CFSI in November 2009, coming from the New America Foundation. She holds a MPP from Georgetown University and a B.A. in economics from the University of Louisville.
