JPMorgan Chase (JPM) announced Thursday the addition of Gavin Michael as head of digital for Chase's consumer and community banking division.
Michael will report to Gordon Smith, chief executive officer of the division, and Guy Chiarello, chief information officer for JPMorgan Chase.
Michael most recently served as the chief technology officer at Accenture. In that role, he was responsible for the innovation agenda, technology strategy and research and development. He also held senior roles at Lloyd's banking group, National Australia Bank and IBM.
Michael received a Ph.D. in computer science from Australian National University and an undergraduate degree from University of Western Australia.
The bank counts more than 31 million active users of Chase.com and 12 million active mobile users.
