WASHINGTON Sen. David Vitter, a staunch conservative who wants to break up big banks and overhaul the Federal Housing Administration, will be singing a different tune this weekend namely that of pop idol Justin Bieber.
The Louisiana Republican is cutting loose at Bieber's Saturday evening performance at the Verizon Center in downtown Washington and, for $1,000 a head (or per political action committee), Vitter supporters can relive their youth in a designated suite with the lawmaker. Three of Vitter's children, Jack, age 11, and his 16-year-old twin daughters, Airey and Lise, will also be in attendance.
The event is being hosted by a campaign committee, David Vitter for Senate. Vitter, a member of the Senate Banking Committee, is up for reelection in 2016, though rumors about a potential run for Louisiana governor in 2015 continue to swirl.
