Bank of Kentucky Financial Corp. in Crestview Hills will be looking for a new chairman after Rodney Cain informed the company that he is stepping down from its board.

The $1.6 billion-asset company said in a regulatory filing Wednesday that Cain is also leaving the board of its Bank of Kentucky. The filing said that Cain's decision to not seek re-election "did not relate to any disagreement with the Company or the Bank." Bank of Kentucky Financial last week reported that its fourth-quarter earnings rose 34% from a year earlier.

Cain will remain chairman until the company holds its annual meeting. The filing did not identify a successor.

Cain has been chairman of the holding company and bank since 2003, and a director since 1994, according to regulatory filings.
