PayNearMe Hires Former Wells Fargo Exec

PayNearMe of Sunnyvale, Calif., has hired Billy Robins as its vice president of business development.

Robins, an innovator in PFM products, most recently served as vice president of personal financial management and product management at Wells Fargo.

In his new role, Robins will focus on building out the financial services vertical for PayNearMe, a venture-backed cash transaction network. The network enables those without access to bank accounts and credit cards, as well as those who simply prefer to pay with cash, to make payments for goods and services at stores like 7-Eleven. 

"I'm excited to help PayNearMe expand their innovative product into the treasury services of major financial institutions," Robins wrote in a statement to American Banker.
