Think Finance has hired William A. Kontgis as chief information officer to help develop products for the unbanked.

Kontgis has more than 20 years of experience designing and developing technology products. He will help Think Finance launch several products in the near future aimed at consumers who do not have traditional banking relationships, it said in a press release Thursday.

Prior to joining Think Finance, Kontgis was CIO for Green Dot Corp., where he helped enhance the company's information technology operations, the release said. He also served as an executive vice president and CIO at Countrywide Bank and held senior technology leadership positions at Digital Insight, First Nationwide Bank and California Federal Bank.

Think Finance develops financial products to help customers manage daily expenses and looks to provide services to the under banked.
