Should Banks Split Chairman, CEO Roles?

The debate over whether banks should be run by separate chairmen and chief executives has gained fresh urgency as proxy season has arrived. Even at the biggest banks, the question remains far from resolved.

Why is there a debate? Of course, the board (Chairman)should be separate from the management (CEO). We have had enough looking at the above faces and their obscene compensation.

Q: When the CEO and the Chairman are the same person, how do you have an executive session of the board? Answer: Very awkwardly.

Lead directors provide zero leadership. They are a fantasy created by CEO's that want to keep all the power. You can add US Bank to the list where there is a need to split the jobs.
