Mobile remote deposit capture has proven to be one of consumers’ favorite mobile banking tools, but now NACHA’s Council for Electronic Billing and Payments wants billers, banks, and all others in the supply chain, to deploy standardized QR codes printed on bills and scanned by mobile banking apps to ease electronic bill pay setup and reduce the $720 million the industry spends on processing ‘fat finger’ and wrong account exceptions each year.
More than 20 companies, including Intuit, Wells Fargo and US Bank, bill printer DST and others are participating in a year-long industry evaluation process of the new QR code standard that began May 1.
Join our Web Seminar to hear active players discuss the standards and evaluation process, and how the industry might embrace QR codes as a bridge technology to other advances in electronic bill pay.
