Alan King

Director, Energy Partnerships

Alan D. King is the Director, Energy Partnerships in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installation and Environment. In this role Mr King has oversight of all renewable and alternative energy projects that are executed under a Public Private Partnership. He guides the Army’s approach to energy projects and partnerships without negatively impacting core training and readiness missions of the installation. Mr King started working this position 1 March 2010. Mr. King has 27 years of experience as a governmental service employee with intimate knowledge of Department of Defense, installation hierarchy, installation management and strategic planning processes. Mr King has served on the Army Staff as a Program Manager in the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management where he was one of the co-founders of the Enhanced Use Lease program. Mr King interfaces with congressional staffers on the benefits of private sector development on federal properties.
