Chief of Staff to the Mayor

In 2008, DeMaine was elected as the 2nd Ward Councilman for the City of Youngstown. After serving his first term, he was elected to serve a second term on council. However, when the new Mayor took office, he asked DeMaine to resign from his council seat to serve as Chief of Staff for the city.After accepting the position on August 8, 2011, DeMaine has assumed several key responsibilities. He has been placed in charge of streamlining the city’s demolition process, as well as developing a comprehensive strategy to address violent crime in the city. One of the more significant roles he has assumed is the implementation and oversight of the Strong Cities, Strong Communities Initiative’s engagement in the City of Youngstown. DeMaine is a lifelong resident of the City of Youngstown. He has been married for 11 years and has three daughters. He is a graduate of The Walsh University in Canton, OH and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
