Peter is a partner based in WithumSmith+Brown's New Brunswick, NJ, office and entered the public accounting profession over 25 years ago. He is a licensed certified public accountant in the state of New Jersey and specializes in taxation.A graduate of Brooklyn College, where he earned his BA degree in economics, Peter also completed graduate courses at Baruch School of Business, City University of New York. He began his accounting career at Laventhol & Horwath after serving as an IRS agent for eight years. He was a founding partner of Mendlowitz Weitsen, LLP, which merged into WS+B in 2005. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA). Peter is a past president of the Middlesex/Somerset Chapter of the NJSCPA and a former chairperson of the Cooperation with the IRS Committee. Peter currently presents to the NJSCPA as a member of the IRS practitioner Liaison Committee New Jersey.He currently serves as treasurer for the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce and received the chambers "2002 Business Leader of the Year Award." In addition to co-authoring three books, Peter has written numerous articles and has been quoted in several publications throughout the country. He is also a frequent speaker before business and professional groups.
