Rita Carroll serves as Executive Vice President and Head of Consumer Lending for TCF National Bank with responsibilities across the consumer lending spectrum. With 20+ years experience in the financial services industry, Ms. Carroll has worked across various asset classes spanning consumer, commercial, and specialty finance/ small business. Prior to this role, she led the Enterprise Risk Management department at TCF National Bank with accountabilities in a broad array of risk disciplines: Risk Policy & Governance, Model Development & Validation, ALLL/ CECL/ Loss Forecasting and Data Governance.

Previously, Ms. Carroll has held various leadership position at some of the largest financial institutions in the US. At PNC, she was Senior Vice President, head of mortgage analytics, risk management. Ms. Carroll directed all credit and operational risk analytics for the $130 billion+, mortgage servicing portfolios, inclusive of PNC originated assets, service-for-others and held-for-investment portfolios. She worked extensively with external governing bodies including the OCC, Federal Reserve, CFPB, and GSEs to assess the external regulatory landscape and its impact to the customer and risk to the portfolio. She has also held senior roles at HSBC: in card and retail services, private label and affinity co-brand card (consumer and commercial), mortgage lending. She began her financial services career at Discover Financial Services/ Morgan Stanley in the quantitative modeling arena in the late 90’s.

Ms. Carroll blends her disciplined leadership capabilities, business understanding, and analytical expertise in serving the bank, its shareholders and the end customers. She is passionate in belief that good general management encompasses good risk management and this approach yields true value and benefit for the customer- the ultimate reward.

She holds an A.B. degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and resides in the Chicago suburbs with her husband and two kids.
