Manolo has more than 15 years of experience in digital product innovation and strategy and has actively participated in the digital transformation at BBVA Spain. He recently joined BBVA USAas Head of Retail Customer Solutions development to lead the digital transformation at BBVA USA as a cultural shift within the business by defining and owning the strategy and life cycle of existing and new digital products, adopting Agile methodologies and providing direction to a high-performing product team.

He first joined BBVA in 2010 as Global Head of Digital Strategy in Spain, moving to San Francisco in June 2012. His main role there consisted of identifying new products that can help BBVA improve the relationship between the bank and their customers, primarily via digital channels, supporting the BBVA Ventures team on the technical side when working on potential investments. Manolo returned to BBVA Spain in June 2015 as Program Manager of the Advice program, aiming to identify and execute digital experiences to help clients to make better financial decisions, releasing digital products as BBVA Invest --a client-centric multi-channel experience focused on helping BBVA clients to find the financial product that better fits their needs--, BBVA Valora --a cross-channel experience that helps buyers to negotiate-- or BBVA 3rd Party Data Aggregation.

Prior to joining BBVA, Manolo was eBusiness Director at Nurun, an international marketing agency dedicated to helping brands define their digital strategy through technology. His role in this company to help define the digital strategy of major banking and insurance companies in Spain to define the scope and recommended approach for the clients’ most strategic digital projects. Prior to Nurun, Manolo worked at Crazy Labs (acquired by Nurun), Lucent Technologies and Indra.

Manolo has his BSc Electrical Engineering, MSc Telecommunications by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain)
