John Finley
Head of Innovation & Customer Journeys , Bank of the West

John Finley is Head of Innovation & Customer Journeys at Bank of the West, leading the team responsible for reimagining the customer journey across all the Bank’s divisions and channels.

Finley specializes in delivering innovative digital experiences for customers, creating human-centric journeys that aim to put an individual’s unique needs at the center of the bank’s interaction with the consumer. Through a tailored approach, Finley and his team provide custom end-to-end experiences that are designed by considering the needs and experiences of the individual customer.

Finley has been with Bank of the West since 2008, starting as a Customer Experience Manager, before leading the Bank’s Digital Channels group. Prior to his current role, Finley spent three years in Paris as Head of Direct Bank & Innovation for their International Retail Banking group.

Before joining Bank of the West, Finley held leadership positions at Washington Mutual, Seek Ltd., and Capital One.

Finley attended Whitman College.
