NCUA announced funds were available for three new technical assistance grant programs, noting that $350,000 in TAGs are now on the table for low-income designated credit unions in the areas of financial education assistance, homeownership assistance and officials and staff training assistance.
The agency encouraged low-income designated credit unions to apply for grant funding to cover the operational and administrative costs associated with programs in these areas. NCUA said it is in the process of developing a number of other TAG programs, including enhanced technology, expanding service to underserved areas, individual development accounts, IRNet and credit union mentoring.
