Alabama Delegation Takes The CUPledge

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - (10/01/04) -- The state's two U.S. senators andfour of its seven House members have all taken the pledge tosupport the credit union tax exemption in Congress. The Alabama CULeague said it has collected the names of the six lawmakers,including Sen. Richard Shelby, chairman of the important SenateBanking Committee, endorsing the credit union exemption. The sixlawmakers made their positions known as part of the league'sCU-Vote campaign, aimed at educating credit union members aboutcandidates' positions on credit union issues.
