After learning from the Pennsylvania league that a man was attempting to target area credit unions, and after having been shown an electronic copy of the signature being used, staff at the credit union's Mt. Joy, Penn. office attempted to stall the man when he presented the bogus $8,300 check. The man left the office and said he would be back.

According to the league, instead he drove to the credit union's main office, where staff again identified the check and again stalled him while police were notified.
