NCUA said it approved a federal charter for Horizon Utah CU, making 15 state credit unions in Utah that have fled to federal charters over the past 18 months. The federal charter will allow the $80-million credit union to serve almost 500,000 people in the Ogden metropolitan area, including Davis, Morgan and Webber counties, the kind of multiple-county field of membership no longer available for Utah state charters.
