RACINE, Wis. - (10/28/04) -- A Milwaukee man was chargedWednesday with the Oct. 11 murders of a 40-year-old mother of sixand one of her teenage daughters, after fleeing from a failedrobbery at Horizon CU. Wendell McPherson, 26, was charged with twocounts of first-degree intentional homicide and four other chargesrelated to the gruesome killings in the victims' house, a fewblocks from the credit union. Police said McPherson and anaccomplice were waiting in their car outside the credit union butthe two men fled when police came to check out a report of asuspicious vehicle. The accomplice ran off and McPherson sped awayin his car, crashing a few minutes later into a garage a blockwhere the two bodies were found. The victims were identified asNancy Mason, 40, and her 19-year-old daughter, Meghan, each shotonce in the head.
