California League VP, Bannan, Dies

California Credit Union League Vice President Kim Bannan has died following complications from a heart attack.

A 10-year veteran of the CCUL, Bannan oversaw the league's various diversity programs and was very involved in programs to assist small credit unions. In addition, she led efforts to promote professional development, financial literacy and assisted as the league developed relationships with credit union movements in Mexico and Latin America.

"This is a sad day for all of us at the league, and for the entire credit union community," said CCUL CEO David L. Chatfield. "Kim embodied the credit union philosophy of people helping people. It was evident not just in her dedication to the credit union movement, to which she brought an unyielding positive attitude, but in her relationships with our extended family here at the league." Bannan is survivied by a mother, brother, and other family members.
