Capitol Hill Figure Joins CULobby

WASHINGTON - (03/22/05) -- The California CU League saidTuesday it has hired Ryan Donovan, former chief of staff for creditunion champion Brad Sherman of California and a former assistant toex-House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt, as its Washingtonlobbyist. Donovan, will be the Capital representative for theCalifornia league's lobbying team. While the California league isthe first state league to hire a full-time Washington lobbyist, itwill continue to coordinate its legislative advocacy with CUNA andthe other state leagues. Donovan will report to Bob Arnould, whowas appointed to head the league's joint state and federal lobbyingoffice under last year's reorganization.
