HOUSTON - (07/02/04) -- Cardtronics Inc. said it completedthe acquisition of E*Trade's ATM business, including E*Trade's15,000 ATMs, giving the independent operator of ATMs a fleet of27,000 machines, the biggest in the nation. E*Trade said it expectsto recognize a pre-tax gain of $55 million on the $106 millionsale. Under the deal. E*Trade customers will continue to have freeaccess to all ATMs bearing the E*Trade Financial brand. TheCardtronics and E*Trade machines make up the Allpointsurcharge-free network.
