ALPHARETTA, Ga. - (10/22/04) -- Payments processor Certegy Inc. saidthird quarter earnings climbed 11% to $29.1 million, or 46 cents ashare, based on a 13% advance in revenues to $262.7 million.Revenues for the company's core card services grew 7% to $149.5million; while check services revenue rose 23% to $113.1 million,for the quarter. Through the first three quarters of the year,Certegy reported a 13% rise in revenues to $757.7 million, and a21% increase in net income to $74.7 million, or $1.16 a share.Separately, the company announced it plans to sell its retailmerchant acquiring business, which generated $1.3 million inrevenue in the third quarter.
