Community Charters Get Awards Program

The National Association of Community Credit Unions has established the inaugural Community Credit Union of the Year Award to recognize a community CU that "best exemplifies the principles of the credit union movement while serving as a positive influence in its community."

"This distinction is reserved for community credit unions that consistently excel in the advancement of credit union movement ideals, are proactive in their community, and provide a wide-array of services that meet the needs of their diverse communities," said D.G. Markwell of MAX FCU and award committee chairman.

Recipients will be honored at NACCU's annual conference in Phoenix Oct. 3-6 and be given a complimentary registration to the 2005 annual conference, and an opportunity to present the award to the next recipient. Interested credit unions must submit their entries by Aug. 13. For info: www.naccu.com, or by calling Marc Selvitelli at (800) 356-9655, ext. 6770.
