RFCU Awards 5 Scholarships

WARNER ROBINS, Ga.-Robins Federal Credit Union awarded Nancy Evans, Dustin Chad, Tracy Lee, Sara Wood, and Adria Davis with $4,000 college scholarships.

In additional news, the credit union presented a $6,482.26 to the Children's Miracle Network at CMN's network telethon, hosted by the Children's Hospital at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

SWCU Supports Veterans Of War

WEIRTON, W.V.-Steel Works Community Federal Credit Union donated $500 to the Brook-Hancock County Veterans Memorial. A memorial brick will be placed in the walkway in honor of the donation.

In additional news, the credit union received first place in the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Program.

AEDCFCU Helps Seniors Fight Fraud

TULLAHOMA, Tenn.-AEDC Federal Credit Union hosted two free educational seminars on fraud for its senior members. The prevalence of identity theft and scams promted the credit union to offer the senior class program.

WCU Sponsors School Book Drive

FITCHBURG, Mass.-The sixth grade class of Athol-Royalston Middle School organized a book drive, which was sponsored by Workers' Credit Union. The goal was to give the gift of reading to every child in the community by collecting new and used books for children and their families.

GFCU Hosts KidCare Safety Event

SPRINGFIELD, Va.-Genesis Federal Credit Union hosted Project KidCare, a photo identification event, as part of a national effort to provide parents with personal safety IDs of their children. McGruff the crime dog, the local police, sheriff and fire departments provided demonstration and education for all who attended.

ECCU Wins Battered Boot Award

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-The Battered Boot Award, given by the March of Dimes (MOD) to companies who raise at least $3,000 in the annual WalkAmerica campaign, was recently presented to Educational Community Credit Union. The credit union raised $7,200 for MOD.

PEORIA, Ill.-Citizens Equity First Credit Union sponsored the 8th annual "Partners in Peace" luncheon and raised $9,000 to benefit The Center for Prevention of Abuse.

PHSFCU Wins Credit Union Cup

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Public Health Services Federal Credit Union was awarded the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run "Credit Union Cup," a perpetual trophy donated by Northwest FCU. Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson presented the award.

MFCU Awards 27 Scholarships

DETROIT-Michigan First Credit Union awarded $500 scholarships to one senior from each public high school within the credit union's field of membership. The winners, 27 students in all, were chosen by their schools' guidance counselors. A total of $13,500 in scholarship money was awarded.

T&C FCU Helps Children In Need

PONTIAC, Mich.-T&C Federal Credit Union joined Lighthouse Emergency Services, and Magic Radio Station for a peanut butter and jelly drive. The event collected more than 500 jars of food, which will provide free lunch for children in need throughout the school year.
