Minnesota CUs Hike The Hill

BLOOMINGTON, Minn.-Credit union representatives from Minnesota visited Washington, D.C., and met eight representatives and both senators, NCUA board member JoAnn Johnson, the SBA's John Wade, and Jim Hammersley, and the governmental affairs team at CUNA.

Credit Unions Open New Facilities

* Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, Austin, Texas, held a grand opening at its new Seton branch.

* Nevada Federal Credit Union opened two new branch locations. The new Centennial branch is in Northwest Las Vegas, and the Pahrump branch is located 60 miles southwest of Las Vegas.

* Scott Credit Union purchased land to accommodate a new, full-service branch office in Highland, Ill.

* RCU held a ground breaking ceremony at the site of its new corporate center in downtown Eau Clarie, Wis.

* City Credit Union held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new Lamar branch located in the Jack Evans Police

Headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

* Memphis Area Teachers' Credit Union opened a new East Memphis, Tenn., facility in the Erin Way Plaza.

* Aurora Catholic Federal Credit Union has opened its newly relocated corporate offices and main branch at South Peoria Street in Aurora, Colo.

General Assembly Honors VFCU

BURLINGTON, Vt.-The Vermont State House of Representatives and the State Senate passed H.C.R. 112, honoring Vermont Federal Credit Union for its contributions to the community on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.

BFCU Receives Award Of Excellence

Indiana CUs Raise $5,000

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-Indiana credit unions raised $5,000 in the Credit Union for Kids Indiana Online Auction. More than 100 items were donated by 11 credit unions. All proceeds went to Riley Hospital for Children.

AltaOne FCU Awards Scholarships

Maine CUs Reach Charity Milestone

WESTBROOK, Maine-The Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger reached a milestone when it awarded a $3,000 grant to The Good Shepherd Food Bank. The donation marked $1 million in funds raised since 1990.

NY Foundation Aids Tornado Victims

ALBANY, N.Y.-The New York Credit Union Foundation has contributed $2,500 to the Oklahoma Credit Union Foundation's relief fund, and $1,000 to the Pittsburgh, Kansas Area Community Foundation's fund to help credit union victims of the recent tornadoes.

CYIN Awards 2 $500 Scholarships

RANCHO CUCMONGA, Calif.-The California Youth Involvement Network awarded $500 scholarships to Amanda McGee and Rachelle Sanders.

T&CFCU Sponsors Newspaper

HCU Walks For March Of Dimes

MADISON, Wis.-Heritage Credit Union raised more than $2,300 for the March of Dimes during its annual fundraising campaign. Heritage also organized a team of 23 walkers to participate in the March of Dimes' WalkAmerica. The team raised $1,100 in donations for participating in the 10 mile walk.

SSFCU Donates Funds To Students

PUEBLO, Colo.-Security Service Federal Credit Union contributed $1,000 to assist 11 students from Centennial High School in their quest to attend the Future Business Leaders of America National Conference.
