FORUM CU Joins Relay For Life

FISHERS, Ind.-FORUM Credit Union employees and their families walked for Hamilton County Relay for Life to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Other fundraising efforts included a chili cook-off competition, a car wash, and a bake sale.

FCU Presents CMN $50,000

SAN ANTONIO, Texas-Firstmark Credit Union presented a $50,000 check to Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital during the Children's Miracle Network Telethon. The gift is a result of the credit union's employees' fundraising efforts and member donations over the past year.

Community One Supports Youth

LAS VEGAS-Community One Federal Credit Union supported National Credit Union Youth Week, and presented the grand prize to Lindsey McGuire .

The credit union has also been a Focus School Project Business Partner to Gibson Middle School. Employees participated in various school activities, including hosting a reception with prizes and refreshments.

In additional news, Community One raised $3,000 in "bail money" for the release of CEO J. Alan Pughes, who served a brief jail sentence to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association's "get out of jail" event.

RFCU Announces Raffle Winner

WARNER ROBINS, Ga.-Robins Federal Credit Union announced Lewis Clark as the winner of its CUPAC raffle for a $1,500 shopping spree to Colonial Mall Macon. More than $5,400 was raised from the raffle.

CFCU VP Featured On Television

THORNDALE, Penn.-Citadel Federal Credit Union VP of Marketing and Training Mike Schnably was a featured guest on Comcast Newsmakers program to discuss the Citadel Heart of Learning Award. The award recognizes Chester County teachers for their exemplary teaching practices.

St. Mary's Bank Awards Students

MANCHESTER, N.H.-St. Mary's Bank awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Vadim Karpyuk, a $250 scholarship to Troy Pitman, and an $800 scholarship to Miquel Vazuez.

Credit Union For Kids Honored

ST. PAUL, Minn.-Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare and the Children's Miracle Network honored Minnesota's Credit Unions for Kids at a special dinner program. The event celebrated $2 million in contributions raised by CMN on behalf of Gillette.

MARIETTA, Ga.-CMAR Credit Union participated in the Cobb County WalkAmerica for March of Dimes. The credit union won 1st place for the best T-shirt design.

NAEFCU Raises $4,100 For Charity

CHESAPEAKE, Va.-N.A.E. Federal Credit Union raised $4,100 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern Virginia. NAE raised money through raffles, movie tickets, Christmas Toy stockings, cannisters, and Make-A- Wish bears.

Calif. CUs Help Feed The Hungry

SAN FRANCISCO-Volunteers from the San Francisco and El Camino Chapter of the California Credit Union League worked together to sort and shelve more than 7,000 lbs. of food at the San Francisco Food Bank. The work of the CCUL Coalition Against Hunger will provide more than 5,000 meals to Bay area residents.

ERIE, Penn.-A total of $8,000 in scholarships were awarded by the Erie Chapter of Credit Union's James J. DeDad Scholarship program. The recipients were Maria Kruzicz, Gina Matteson, Cory Baird, Frank Polenta, James Derby, and Elizabeth Keopka.
