CU Figure Trades CDFI ForNCUA

WASHINGTON - (08/03/04) -- Troy Stang, director of publicaffairs at the Texas CU League who has been angling for appointmentto the open seat on the NCUA Board, was named Monday as director ofpublic and congressional affairs at the Treasury Department'sCommunity Development Financial Institutions Pogram, better knownas CDFI. Stang, who worked for the Hmong (Vietnamese) FCU inMinnesota before going to the Texas league, was among the finalistsfor the NCUA post. However, it looks increasingly unlikely that theBush administration will fill the open seat on the NCUA Boardbefore the November elections.
