SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - (01/05/05) -- Credit union members across thestate will be invited to vote on a design for the South Dakotacommemorative quarter during a state-wide ballot later this monthconducted at credit unions and banks, and on the state's website.Three of the five designs proposed feature Mount Rushmore; while abison and a pheasant are the prominent likenesses in the other twodesigns. The .S. Mint is producing commemorative quarters of eachstate in the order the state joined the union and South Dakota wasthe 40th state. The winning design will be chosen by the governorin April and the Mint will begin production in June.
