CUISPA Forms Technology Purchasing Co-op

The Credit Union Information Security Professionals Association (CUISPA) has formed a Technology Purchasing Cooperative (TPC) that was created to "share knowledge about security solutions and vendors, and obtain cost savings through group purchasing discounts." CUISPA is a consortium of credit union information technology (IT) managers established in 2005 to facilitate cooperation among credit union IT managers. For instance, Mike McMillan, director of systems at Texans CU, Dallas, said Texans joined after learning of a rebate offered to members by a vendor with which the credit union was in discussions. The cost savings were double what the credit union paid for dues.
