CUNA Fills Out Lobbying Team

WASHINGTON - (03/21/06) -- CUNA announced Monday it has hiredDean Sagar, a longtime staffer for the Democrats on the HouseFinancial Services Committee, as its number two lobbyist. Sagarhelped draft some of the provisions of HR 1151, the 1998 CUMembership Access Act, while working for the Democratic staff. CUNAis expected to announce Tuesday the hiring of John Magill, chief ofstaff for Rep. Wally Herger, one of the ranking Republicans on thetax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, as its new chieflobbyist. The two will fill the void left by December's departureof chief lobbyist John McKechnie and senior lobbyist Gary Kohn,both of whom went to work at NCUA.
