MADISON, Wis. - (03/01/05) -- CUNA Mutual Group said Monday it hasintroduced a new administrative support program to help creditunions offer tax-deferred Health Savings Accounts to their members.The program will start April 1, in time to start new HSAs for thisyear's April 15 Tax-Day deadline, and provide credit unions withoperational forms for HSAs; training for credit union staff;marketing tools to boost member awareness and education; and atoll-free phone number to answer HSA questions. HSAs are seen bycredit union leaders a a way to increase deposit growth, plus addnon-interest income from administrative and transaction fees. Theycan also build and enhance relationships with small businesseslooking for a depository for the health accounts.
