CUNA Mutual's CO, Benson, Announces Plan To Step Down

Wayne Benson, the well-known chief officer-marketing and strategy for the CUNA Mutual Group, has resigned from the position to evaluate other opportunities. James Gowan, senior VP-sales, will assume the acting marketing and sales leadership role.

"We are disappointed that Wayne is turning his considerable talents to other pursuits, but we wish him tremendous success and good fortune," said Mike Kitchen, president/CEO of CUNA Mutual. "Wayne's significant contributions have positioned CUNA Mutual for success as we move forward."

Benson joined CUNA Mutual in 1981 and has held a number of positions within the company. As chief officer- marketing and strategy, Benson led CUNA Mutual's 1,000-plus member field force, CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc. (the company's broker/dealer), marketing communications and the organization's comprehensive eBusiness strategy.
