Curbside Service Added To CUMenu

HUTCHINSON, Ka. - (05/15/06) – Members of Central Kansas CUcould be excused for imagining a return to the ‘HappyDays’ era of car hop service. Renovations at the $34 millioncredit union required a shutdown of the institution’sdrive-thru lanes, forcing tellers to provide personal deposit andwithdrawal service at the curbside. The sign in front of the creditunion’s North Main St. location said it all: “Park Herefor Car Hop Services.” Members opting for in-branch servicewere greeted by Chairman of the Board Waldean Wedel, who spentFriday working as doorman for walk-in members who accessed thecredit union through the lobby of adjacent Mennonite Mutual Aid.Credit union officials expect to continue the curbside service auntil at least Memorial Day when they hope to have a temporarydrive-thru back in place.
